Honey has a revered status in Islam and comes with a host of benefits for the skin

Niloufar Haidari

No longer just for pouring into a hot drink when you’ve got a cold, honey is one of 2026’s buzziest beauty ingredients. The sticky superfood claims a host of benefits: anti-inflammatory properties calm and soothe irritated skin, while antioxidants protect skin and hair against environmental stressors such as pollution and UV. It’s antibacterial too, making it ideal for treating acne-prone skin.

Unlike some of the purported natural remedies shared on TikTok, honey’s benefits are scientifically backed — certain medical-grade honeys have received FDA and NHS approval as wound-healing treatments in the US and UK respectively.

Honey also has a revered status in Islam, mentioned in the Qur’an as both a food of paradise and a cornerstone of Tibb an-Nabawi (prophetic medicine) because of its healing and medicinal properties. Surah An-Nahl states: “There emerges from their [bees’] bellies a drink of varying colors, in which there is healing for people.” Another famous hadith from Ibn Masud, a companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), says: “You must make use of two healers: the Qur’an and honey.”

If you’re in the market for a sweet treat, here are some of the best honey-infused products.

&honey Deep Moist Shampoo 1.0

One of Japan’s most popular hair brands, &honey’s organic shampoo is now available in the UK. Featuring a blend of argan oil, botanical extracts and natural honeys, including royal jelly and propolis extracts, it works to hydrate and smooth hair while leaving it smelling divine.

Farmacy Beauty Honey Milk Hydrating Essence

Using farm-sourced ingredients, this product combines Hawaiian white honey, chamomile and ceramides in a lightweight, milky formula that deeply hydrates and nourishes while soothing redness and strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier for a dewy, radiant glow. Use after cleansing and toning your face and neck.

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil

Founded by Dutch-Iranian beauty blogger and beekeeper Negin Mirsalehi, Gisou’s natural-based products are infused with honey from Mirsalehi’s own family bee garden. This award-winning hair oil can be used as an overnight treatment and as a pre or post-styling product. Featuring the brand’s wildflower honey scent, it smells amazing too.

Dr Organic Manuka Honey Foot & Heel Cream

This luxurious foot cream is a year-round staple for me, but especially necessary during the summer months when feet are more likely to be on show and you don’t always have the time (or money) for a fresh pedicure. It includes manuka honey to help nourish and hydrate, leaving you with soft feet, ready for your favourite pair of sandals.

Phlur Honey Moon Eau de Parfum

Featuring notes of lavender, orange blossom, saffron, sandalwood, tonka and, of course, honey, Phlur’s Honey Moon perfume is a deliciously warm summer scent. Perfect for anyone who is over the vanilla craze, but still has a bit of a sweet taste when it comes to fragrance.

Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm

Cruelty-free, 100% natural and responsibly sourced, Burt’s Bees is the gold standard when it comes to affordable and ethical lip and hand products. Its Honey Lip Balm is made with a blend of beeswax, coconut oil and antioxidant-rich vitamin E. Infused with honey for a sweet-tasting finish.

ACTIVIST Mānuka Honey Mask

This face mask isn’t cheap but it’s gained a cult following and approval from estheticians for a reason. Its only ingredient is 100% raw, medical grade manuka Honey that has been double-filtered for smooth application. Suitable for all skin types, it can be used as a mask, cleanser or spot treatment, and its 850+ MGO rating means can be used as natural topical care for skin conditions including scarring, acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema, as well as mild burns and wounds.

NUXE Rêve de Miel Hand & Nail Cream

This hand cream’s scent has a subtle sweetness without being too overpowering. Its 50ml size also makes it a great option for carrying around in your handbag while on the go.

Beauty of Joseon Ground Rice and Honey Glow Mask

K-Beauty favourite Beauty of Joseon’s clay face mask offers gentle exfoliation and purifies skin without drying it out. The honey helps soothe and hydrate the skin, as well as providing antibacterial benefits.

LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Candle

One of Lush’s best-selling fragrances in candle form. Paraffin, GMO and soy-free, using vegetable waxes, it’s infused with a honey and caramel scent, perfect for creating an atmosphere of cozy indulgence.

Balqees Raw Honey Skin and Hair Health Bundle

Inspired by his Yemeni heritage, Balqees’s founder Riath Hamed has made it his life’s mission to source the world’s finest raw and unfiltered honey. This bundle features two jars of ethically sourced raw honey, infused with royal jelly and black seed respectively, which are known for their skin and hair-boosting properties. Drizzle it on your morning granola, in your tea, or combine with other common kitchen ingredients for a DIY face mask.
